Kartavya continues his winning spree

Kartavya Anadkat (GUJ) won over a dozen tournaments in 2022. This year also, he is planning to do the same. After making a 8/8 start, he gained a full point lead heading into the final round. His opponent, top seed, IM Srijit Paul (WB) did not turn up. Thus, he got a walk over and won the tournament, finishing 1.5 points ahead of the field. The tournament is organized by Chess Players Parent's Forum, Guwahati, Assam. The parents forum must be applauded for organizing a rating tournament for the fifth edition with a great prize fund to create an opportunity for the talents of Assam to play against strong players from various parts of the country. One can only hope that this will inspire more parents of various states to come together and organize open rating tournaments like these.
