Jules Moussard triumphs at 4th La Plagne Masters 2024, Raja Rithvik second and Iniyan third

GM Jules Moussard (FRA) scored an unbeaten 7.5/9 to win 4th La Plagne Masters (>1950) 2024. Four Indians - GM Raja Rithvik R, GM Pa Iniyan, GM Prraneeth Vuppala and IM Bala Chandra Prasad Dhulipalla scored 7/9 each. They were placed second to fifth according to tie-breaks respectively. Top two remained undefeated. WGM-elect Sakshi Chitlange scored 5.5/9 to earn her second IM-norm. The total prize fund of Masters was €16000. The top three prizes were €3000, €2300 and €1700 along with a trophy each. The seven-day nine round Rating Open tournament was organized by Cercle d'Échecs du Bassin Annemassien in La Plagne, France from 6th to 12th July 2024. Sakshi earns her second IM-norm; Sethumadhav Yellumahanthi clinches Ascension, Mitrabha Blitz

Setumadhav Yellumahanthi scored an unbeaten 8/9 to win the Ascension (1650-2000) event. He finished a full point ahead of the rest. The total prize fund in Ascension was €5500. The top three prizes were €1000, €800 and €600 each. The reigning Commonwealth champion, GM Mitrabha Guha scored an unbeaten 8/9 to become the winner in the Blitz event. He also finished a full point ahead of the rest. IM Mohammad Nubairshah Shaikh scored 7/9 to be placed third. The total prize fund in Blitz was €1500. The top three prizes were €500, €300 and €200 each.

It was organized by Cercle d'Échecs du Bassin Annemassien in La Plagne, France from 6th to 12th July 2024. The time control of the event was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
