Fabien Guilleux wins 28th Creon Open 2024, Nubairshah third
IM Fabien Guilleux (FRA) and IM Antoine Bournel (FRA) scored 7.5/9 each at 28th Creon Open Main (>1700) 2024. Fabien won the tournament due to better tie-breaks, Antoine was secured second place. IM Mohammad Nubairshah Shaikh and IM Kaustuv Kundu scored 7/9 each. They were placed third and fourth respectively. IM S Rohith Krishna is the only other Indian to make a top ten finish. He scored 6.5/9 to claim sixth place. The top three prizes were €1500, €1000 and €700 along with a trophy each respectively. The nine-round Swiss league tournament had a time control of 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
