GM Jean-Marc Degraeve (FRA), GM Namig Guliyev (AZE) and IM Sanket Chakravarty were the three leaders 6.5/8 each, going into the last round. Jean-Marc drew against Namig, the latter became champion and the former third. Sanket shared the point against GM Pierre Bailet (FRA) The combined total participation was 171 - 75 in Open A (>1800), 53 in Open B (1500-2000) and 43 in Open C (<1700).
A total of 75 players including 3 GMs, 4 IMs and a WIM took part from ten countries across the world. The seven-day nine round Rating Open A (>1800) tournament was organized by Emeraude Echecs at Salle Omnisport Joseph Samson de Plancoët in Plancoët, France from 27th July to 2nd August 2024. The time control of the event was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
