Using this site

chessbase.in is run by ChessBase India 64 Squares Pvt Ltd. By reading it, signing in, commenting or submitting an event, you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use the site.

Questions about these terms: chessbaseindia@gmail.com.

We may change the site, or any part of it, at any time, and we do not promise it will always be available.

Our content

Articles, photographs, video, games and graphics published here belong to ChessBase India or to the credited rights holder. You may read them, link to them and share the links.

You may not republish our work, in whole or in substantial part, on another site or in print, and you may not copy it for a commercial purpose or scrape the site in bulk, without our written permission. Quoting a short extract with credit and a link back is fine.

Your account

You sign in with Google. Keep your Google account secure: anything done from your session here is treated as done by you.

An account is for one person, and you must be at least 13 years old to have one. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.

Comments

Comments are yours, and you are responsible for them. Please keep them civil and on the subject of the article.

Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, hateful, threatening, obscene or defamatory, anything that infringes someone else's rights, anyone's private information, spam or advertising, or anything that impersonates another person.

We read comments and may edit, hide or delete any of them, and close comments on an article, without being asked and without notice. We do not check every comment before it appears, and a comment that is still up is not one we endorse.

You keep the rights to what you write, and you give us permission to show it on this site and to keep showing it.

Events you submit

The chess calendar is filled by organisers and readers. If you submit an event you confirm that the details are accurate, that you are entitled to publish them, and that the organiser's email address and registration link may be shown publicly on the event page.

Every submission is reviewed before it appears. We may edit, decline or remove a listing, and we do not have to give a reason, though we try to. Approving a listing is not an endorsement of the event, and we are not its organiser.

Do not submit an event that does not exist, one you have no connection with or permission to list, or a listing used as advertising for something else. Brochures you upload must be your own to share.

Readers should confirm dates, fees and entry details with the organiser before travelling. Anything you arrange with an organiser is between you and them.

YouTube

Parts of this site show videos from our YouTube channel through YouTube API Services. By using them you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (www.youtube.com/t/terms), and Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) applies to what Google collects there.

The shop and other sites

Our online shop runs on Shopify. Orders, payment, delivery and returns are covered by the shop's own terms, not by this page.

We link to other websites, and organisers link to theirs. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they contain or do.

What we do not promise

The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors or interruptions, and chess results, ratings and event details can be wrong or out of date.

To the extent the law allows, ChessBase India is not liable for loss arising from your use of this site, from anything published on it by another user, or from it being unavailable.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

Changes to these terms

We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
