Kartavya Anadkat conquers Smt. Chanchal Dad Memorial Rating Open 2024

Kartavya Anadkat scored an unbeaten 8/9 to win Smt. Chanchal Dad Memorial Rating Open 2024. He finished a half point ahead of the field. Arshpreet Singh, Bhaavan Kolla and Kishan Kumar scored 7.5/9 each. They were placed second to fourth respectively according to tie-breaks. Top two remained undefeated. The total prize fund was ₹500000. The top three prizes were ₹75000, ₹40000 and ₹25000 along with a trophy each. The five-day nine-round tournament was organized by District Chess Association Bhilwara at Sri Ramsnehi Palace Vatika in Bhilwara, Rajasthan from 24th to 28th July 2024. Teenagers claim the podium

Four players - Esshan Wadhawan, Kartavya Anadkat, Arshpreet Singh and Bhaavan Kolla were the leaders 7/8 each, going into the final round. Arshpreet drew with Bhaavan, Shounak Mazumder and Esshan lost to Kartavya and Kishan Kumar respectively. Kartavya became a clear champion. 14-year-old Arshpreet second, 12-year-old Bhaavan third and Kishan fourth.

Mr. Kailash Chandra Dad is the Secretary, District Chess Association, Bhilwara and Senior Vice President of Rajasthan Chess Association. Mrs. Chanchal Dad was his wife. She passed away on 14th May 2018. Mr. Dad is the first coach of Rajasthan's first GM Abhijeet Gupta. The main and the only sponsor of this event was Mr. Kailash Chandra Dad.

A total of 177 players including an IM took part from various places all over India in this five-day nine-round Swiss League Rating Open tournament. It was organized by District Chess Association Bhilwara at Sri Ramsnehi Palace Vatika in Bhilwara, Rajasthan from 24th and 28th July 2024. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
