SKCA invites you to 2nd Super Knights Rating Open 2024 in Sri Lanka
Super Knights Chess Academy invites you to 2nd Super Knights International Rating Chess Championship 2024. The second edition is offering a first prize of LKR 150000 and a total prize fund of LKR 1120000. A total of 66 prizes are up for grabs in Classical event. Entry is FREE for GM, IM, WGM, WIM, FM, WFMs and players rated above 1900. Travel grant is offered to GM, IM, WGM, WIMs having rating above 2200 (2000 for Women). Foreign players are given various conditions too. Last year we have already witnessed six different Indians - GM Deepan Chakkravarthy, IM Raahul V S, IM Kushagra Mohan, GM Swapnil Dhopade, Indrajeet Mahindrakar and IM Anup Deshmukh win a combined total of seven tournaments in Sri Lanka. This April play a rating open in Thalawathugoda, Sri Lanka
Venue, Schedule and Eligibility
The tournament will take place at Samanala Hotel, Thalawathugoda in Sri Lanka from 19th to 23rd April 2024. There are double rounds every day. Blitz event will take place on 20th April 2024. The tournament is open for all.
Prizes
The total prize fund is LKR 1120000. The top three prizes in the Open category are LKR 150000, 100000 and 60000 along with a trophy and medal each. There are 15 main prizes, top three prizes in Best Women, five different Rating category prizes including unrated. Six age group - Under-6, Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 has trophies and medals each for the top three Boys and Girls. Under-9, 11 and 13 have cash prizes too along with the aforementioned trophies and medals. There are Mercantile and Corporate Sector, and Higher Education Sector (Above 18 years) team prizes for the top three finishers. Check the image below for more details.
Entry fees
Entry is free for GM, IM, WGM, WIM, FM and WFM, and rating above 1900. Entry is also free for National Youth Champions in 2024. For all other players, please check the image below for entry fee structure and payment details.
Accommodation and Transport
Travel Grant
GMs, IMs, WGMs and WIMs having over 2200 Elo rating (2000 for Women) will be given a travel grant of LKR 30000.
