Prasannaa wins 1st ISC Rating Open 2022

S Prasannaa scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win 1st ISC International Open Rating Tournament 2022. Prasannaa scored eight consecutive wins to gain a full point lead heading into the final round. He drew his final game against Jai Sankar Subramanian to finish a half point ahead of the field. The reigning Kerala State Senior champion, Marthandan K U scored sole 8/9 to finish second. Five players scored 7.5/9. Jai was placed third according to the tie-breaks. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹500000. Fall Chess Classic R1-5: Vidit and Raunak in lead

The 2022 Fall Chess Classic is the third installment of the Chess Classics featuring international chess professionals. The Fall Chess Classic is comprised of two, 10-player Round Robin tournaments. 3 Indian players are taking part in the tournament - GMs Vidit Gujrathi, Surya Sekhar Ganguly, and Raunak Sadhwani. Vidit and Surya are playing in Group A, and Raunak is playing in Group B of the tournament. After 5 rounds, GM Vidit Gujrathi is leading the A group, and GM Raunak Sadhwani is leading the B group. Almaty to host World Rapid & Blitz Championships from 25th to 30th December 2022

FIDE World Rapid and Blitz championship will take place from 25th to 30th December in Almaty, Kazakhstan. More details is slated to be revealed by 15th November. One can expect the eligibility criteria, tournament regulations and total prize fund will be mentioned there. GMs Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Alexandra Kosteniuk and IM Bibisara Assaubayeva are the defending champions. They would definitely like to defend their titles. Among the Indians, it would be great to see Vishy Anand return to this event after skipping last year. He can be joined by Gukesh, Vidit, Arjun Erigaisi, Harikrishna, Praggnanandhaa, S L Narayanan, Nihal, Humpy, Harika and others. Whom would you like to see in this fast and furious action? Praggnanandhaa wins Gold at Asian Continental 2022, Silver for Harsha and Adhiban Bronze

GM R Praggnanandhaa drew with GM B Adhiban in the final round. The next two boards also had no decisive results. Thus, Praggnanandhaa became Asian Continental 2022 Open champion with an unbeaten 7/9. Six players scored 6.5/9. GM Harsha Bharathakoti and GM B Adhiban were placed second and third according to tie-breaks. They won Silver and Bronze medal. GM S L Narayanan was adjudged fourth. They all qualified to the FIDE World Cup 2023. The total prize fund of the tournament was US$ 60000, $31400 in the Open. DreamHack Rapid and Blitz 2022 witnesses the participation of 8 GMs and 10 IMs

DreamHack India is the biggest gaming festival in the country. To be held in Hyderabad from 4th to 6th of November 2022, it will witness the gathering of over 20,000 gamers from all across the country!  This year, chess has been introduced as a part of the DreamHack. Nandhidhaa P V clinches Gold at Asian Continental Women 2022 with a round to spare

Top seed GM R Praggnanandhaa defeated IM Koustav Chatterjee to gain sole lead 6.5/8. He is now a half point ahead heading into the final round of Asian Continental Chess Championship 2022. Five players are at 6/8. They are - Harsha Bharathakoti, S L Narayanan, B Adhiban, Shamsiddin Vokhidov and Karthik Venkataraman. In the Women's event, WGM Nandhidhaa PV defeated IM Soumya Swaminathan to win the tournament with a round to spare. The battle for the remaining two places will be on. Asian Continental 2022 R7: Praggnanandhaa grinds a 137-move marathon over six hours

When someone plays against the world champion and beats him multiple times, something is bound to rub off him. R Praggnanandhaa has assimilated Carlsen's style of grinding in the endgame. Having a tiny spec of practical chances meant Pragg will push. That's what he did and eventually his opponent, GM Karthikeyan Murali crumbled after fatigue set in due to the course of over six hours of play and 137 moves long mentally and physically exhausting battle. GM Aravindh Chithambaram tried too hard to score a win against IM Koustav Chatterjee and it cost him dearly. Harsha, Praggnanandhaa, Shamsiddin Vokhidov (UZB) and Koustav are the four leaders 5.5/7. GM Krishnan Sasikiran won his second Classical tournament of the year at 8th Liffre Open 2022. He scored an unbeaten 7.5/9 and finished a half point ahead of the field. GM Momchil Nikolov (BUL) scored sole 7/9 to finish second. IM Sayantan Das scored 6.5/9 to secure third place without the need of tie-breaks. The total prize fund was €5070 combining both categories. The top three prizes were €1000 and a trophy, €800 and €600 each respectively. GM Harsha Bharathakoti drew with the top seed GM R Praggnanandhaa to maintain his sole lead 5/6. He is followed by eleven players at 4.5/6. GM S L Narayanan, GM Aravindh Chithambaram, IM Saparmyrat Atabayev (TKM) and IM Koustav Chatterjee won their respective games to reduce the gap. In the Women's event, WGM Nandhidhaa P V defeated her coleader WGM Priyanka Nutakki to gain sole lead 5.5/6. Nandhidhaa is now full point ahead of Priyanka and IM Padmini Rout. Narayanan - Harsha and Nandhidhaa - Padmini are the top board matches in Round 7.
