Abdallah M Nisthar wins 1st Bangalore GM Category C Below 1800 Rating Tournament 2024
Abdallah M Nisthar, Avhad Prajwal and Devarsh M Borkhetriya scored 9/10 each at 1st Bangalore GM Category C Below 1800 Rating Tournament 2024. Abdallah won the tournament due to better tie-breaks, Avhad and Devarsh were placed second and third respectively. Both champion and second runner-up remain undefeated. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹1250000. The top three prizes were ₹125000, ₹100000 and ₹85000 along with a trophy each respectively. Six players - Abdallah M Nisthar, Devarsh M Borkhetriya, Bhuvan Krishna Prashanth, Avhad Prajwal, Ahaz E U and Sahil Bheron were the leaders 8/9 heading into the final round. Abdallah, Avhad and Devarsh won against Bhuvan, Ahaz and Sahil. They were placed first, second an third respectively.

The four-day ten round Below 1800 Rating tournament was organized by Bengaluru Urban District Chess Association at Sri Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, Karnataka from 23rd to 26th January 2024. The time control of the event was 60 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
