Under-8 Girls

Narayani Umesh Marathe (1416) defeated Nakshatra Gumudavelly to maintain her sole lead 6/6. Nakshatra had a few chances to draw the game. However, it is understandable that they both do not know the theory in rook endgame as they are just seven years old.

Nakshatra - Narayani

Position after 53...Re7?

53...Kh5 was the simplest way to win for Black which she did in the next move. However, 53...Re7? gave White one last chance to save the game 54.h5! Earlier White had a few chances in the rook endgame to go for two vs three pawns, simple draw.

Bijesh spotted a nice tactic before playing 21.gxh5! Find out why it works and 21...fxe5? is a mistake.
