Gukesh returns to World no.6, Arjun stays World no.4
01/08/2024 - Arjun Erigaisi and D Gukesh maintained their place in World top ten in FIDE Rating list August 2024. After months of non-stop action, Arjun finally took some rest. Thus, his rating remained unchanged. D Gukesh gained a valuable 3.2 Elo rating points at Superbet Chess Classic Romania to move to World no.6. Praggnanandhaa's tough run at 57th Biel Chess Festival GMT dropped him to no.12. Currently, there are four Indians in top 12, five in top 22, six in top 31, seven in top 39 and eleven in top 83. Among the Women, there are three Indians in top 12 and four in top 18. GM R Vaishali moved up to World no.11 and India no.2 among women after her fantastic performance at Biel Festival GMT. GM Harika Dronavalli returned to 2500+ club. IM Divya Deshmukh moved to World no.18 among Women. Both Harika and Divya gained their rating at IsBankasi Turkiye Super League.
