Adamas University perfect at East Zone Inter University Men and Women 2023-24

Adamas University won both Women and Men section of East Zone Inter University Championship 2022-23. Both Women and Men's team scored a perfect 12/12. Jadavpur University scored 10/12 to secure second place. Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University and Banaras Hindu University scored 8/12 each to be placed third and fourth according to tie-breaks. In Men's event, four teams - University of Calcutta, Jadavpur University, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University and Patna University scored 9/12 each. They were placed second to fifth respectively. An encore performance of 2021

Adamas University Women's team won the tournament for three consecutive editions 2021-22, 2022-23 and now 2023-24. The Men's team reclaimed their first place after finishing second in 2022-23.

The tournament was organized by Association of Indian Universities from 3rd to 6th January 2024 at University of Science & Technology Meghalaya. A total of 89 players including three WIMs comprising 18 teams took part in the six-round Swiss league team tournament which had a time control of 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.

A total of 135 players including a GM and three IMs comprising 26 teams took part in the six-round Swiss league team tournament which had a time control of 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
