Goa's Latest IM on a Mission
Mandar Pradip Lad scored a perfect 9/9 to clinch the title, but another impressive thing was his consistency at the Late Shri Chandrakant Naik Memorial Rapid Rating Tournament. Mandar won back-to-back with a perfect score in previous years too. In 2023, with 8/8; in 2024, with 9/9; and in 2025, again with 9/9.
The tournament was organised by Quepem Taluka Chess Association at Govt. College of Arts, Commerce & Science, Quepem, Goa from 3rd to 4th October. A total of 215 players took part in this two-day rapid rating chess tournament.
