Srivardhan's first rating tournament triumph
Srivardhan Reddy Devareddy was the sole leader 7.5/8, heading into the final round. Six players - Sanskar Gaigore, Mayank Santosh Hedau, Siddhesh Kamila, Saket Kumar, Arijit Ghosh and Bratin Das were in pursuit at 7/8 each. Srivardhan defeated Mayank to become a clear champion. Bratin lost to Arijit and the latter secured second place. Sanskar drew with Saket to finish third.

A total of 433 players took part from various parts of India and also from Cyprus, Kenya, Nepal and Sri Lanka in Category C (Below 1700). The tournament was organized by KIIT University from 6th to 9th December 2024 at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The nine-round Swiss league tournament had a time control of 60 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
