Madhvendra Pratap Sharma dominates Khelo Chess India Blitz Rating Open 2024 with a 100% score

10-year-old Madhvendra Pratap Sharma scored a perfect 9/9 to win Khelo Chess India Blitz Rating Open 2024. He finished a staggering 1.5 points ahead of the field. Ishaan Singh Khanuja scored sole 7.5/9 to secure second place. Eight players scored 7/9. Out of them, Harshit Dawar finished third as he had the best tie-break score. This tournament was part of Guinness World Record attempt on International Chess Day, 20th July 2024. The top three prizes were ChessBase 17, Fritz 19 and Attack like a Super GM Fritztrainer along with a medal and FIDE 100 trophy. The one-day nine round Blitz Rating tournament was organized by us, ChessBase India at Sage International School in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Madhvendra miles ahead of the competition

Madhvendra Pratap Sharma made a perfect start by winning eight consecutive games. He was a full point ahead of the rest, heading into the final round. Despite needing a draw to become a clear champion, the boy defeated Kavyansh Agrawal to become champion with a perfect score 9/9. Ishaan Singh Khanuja won against Harshit Dawar to finish second, Harshit third. In the previous month, Madhvendra won 1st Seoni Rapid Rating Open with an unbeaten 8/9.

Madhvendra Pratap Sharma won all nine games, finished a whopping 1.5 points ahead of the rest and gained 57.2 Elo rating points

A total of 117 players took part from various states across the country in this one-day nine round Blitz Rating tournament. It was organized by us, ChessBase India at Sage International School in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on International Chess Day, 20th July 2024. The time control of the event was 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment per move.
