ChessBase India YouTube Memberships
ChessBase India launched its YouTube memberships during the Super Juniors Cup in December 2020. All the money that has been and will be collected via the memberships goes to Indian chess in the form of sponsorships, scholarships, tournaments, support and more. In this article we want to mention all the people who have supported our endeavour to power chess in India by becoming members. We, at ChessBase India, believe in 100% transparency when it comes to any of our endeavours involving the financial support from our viewers. Keeping up that spirit we will be publishing a report every month on the money raised through YouTube memberships and how it has been used.
When it comes to the ChessBase India YouTube membership tiers, we have five of them:
For a long time we did not introduce memberships on ChessBase India YouTube channel because we wanted to keep all our content on the channel free and open for everyone. We did not want to create a divide in the channel based on the memberships feature. That's the reason why when we launched our YouTube channel memberships we announced that all the money that we would be collecting would go towards Indian chess. There are no perks for the members apart from the fact that their names would be mentioned in the ChessBase India newspage as contributors and supporters. A lot of people have put their trust in us and become members to bring about a change in Indian chess.
The idea of ChessBase India YouTube Memberships is to create a strong membership program through which we can engage in meaningful projects that can help the talents of Indian chess. The biggest advantage of ChessBase India is that because we cover chess news on a daily basis we have the pulse of what is happening in Indian chess. We also are in touch with the best of trainers across India and the world. We consider ourselves the ideal bridge between the money that we collect from our viewers and those chess players who are in need of the funds. At the same time we want to indulge in the highest level of transparency so that every penny that we collect is appropriately used. Below we have the names of all the members who have contributed until now and the tier of membership that they currently have as on 31st of March 2021. We will be publishing such a list every month so that you are aware of the funds we collect and also how they are being utilized.
The picture depicts what ChessBase India's YouTube Memberships are all about. We have a lot of subscribers on the channel. But some of them show a leap of faith and become members! This turns into a strong community which raises a substantial amount for the betterment of chess. The amount is used in the best possible way so that Indian chess benefits.

Final Summary
We launched our memberships on 5th of December 2020. All the money that we raised in the first 4 days were contributed towards the players of the Super Juniors Cup. So here's the break-up of the amount.
Total amount collected from 5th Dec to 31st March = Rs.174,615
Prize money given in Super Juniors Cup = 47,224
Total Amount left to be utilized until 31st of March 2021 = Rs.127,391
How are we going to use the funds?
The amount of Rs.1,27,391 is going to be used in the month of June for the Super Talents Cup by ChessBase India. What is the logic behind the Super Talents Cup? We all know about the huge talents in Indian chess currently - Nihal Sarin, Praggnanandhaa, Raunak Sadhwani, Gukesh, Leon and many others. However, who are the next big talents after them? The aim of the super talents cup is to pit 32 of the most talented youngsters between the age of 7 to 12 in a 32-player knockout tournament. We will soon be releasing an article on it along with the players, dates and other information. However, the prize fund is confirmed (Rs.1,27,391) and this is because of the funds that have been raised through the memberships.

These are the members of ChessBase India YouTube channel for the month of April. The total amount (after 30% of YouTube commission) comes to Rs.34,588. This amount will be utilized for the budding young talent Savitha Shri from Chennai. The girl is just 14 years old and already has a live rating of close to 2300. She is in need of funds and all of this amount is going to be spent for her training. We will be in touch with her trainers to ensure that the amount is appropriately used. Plans for the May Fund
All the fund raised in May with the existing members and new ones will be used for differently-abled chess players. They will be given training opportunities and this amount will be used to help them improve at chess.
