Four players - IM Aronyak Ghosh (Eastern Railway), GM Diptayan Ghosh (Eastern Railway), IM Nitin S (Southern Railway) and GM Mitrabha Guha (Metro) scored 5.5/7 each at 36th All India Railway Individual Chess Championship 2024. The highest rated IM of the country, Aronyak won the tournament on tie-breaks. The remaining three were placed second to fourth respectively. Aronyak drew with the eventual runner-up, Nitin in the final round to become the champion. Top three remained undefeated. IM Aronyak Ghosh (Eastern Railway), IM Nitin S (Southern Railway) and FM Ram Prakash (Northern Railway) were the leaders 5/6, heading into the final round. Nitin drew with Aronyak, Mitrabha defeated Ram. GM Sayantan Das (Metro) lost to GM Diptayan Ghosh (Eastern Railway). Aronyak became the winner, Diptayan second and Nitin third.

IM Aronyak Ghosh (Eastern Railway) scored an unbeaten 5.5/7

A total of 85 players including 13 GMs and 17 IMs represented various railway divisions of Indian Railways across the country in this four-day seven-round Swiss League non-rating individual tournament. The event was organized by WCR Sports Association at Railway Stadium Basketball Court in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh from 25th to 28th July 2024. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
