On 19th March 2025, the ChessBase India Chess Club at Phoenix Marketcity Mall completed 3 years! There were so many amazing events which took place in the Chess Club over the last 3 years. Celebrating the anniversary, we are holding the 3rd Anniversary Phoenix ChessBase India Chess Club FIDE Rapid Rating Chess tournament 2025 on 5th April! This will be a FIDE Rating tournament taking place at the 1st floor of Dublin Square, Phoenix Marketcity Mall Mumbai, Kurla. There is a total prize fund of Rs. 3 Lakhs, with an entry fee of just Rs. 600! Celebrating 3 years of the ChessBase India Chess Club in Mumbai with a Rapid Rating tournament!

The dream of having a Chess Club in Mumbai started with the ChessBase India Chess Club at the Phoenix Marketcity Mall in Mumbai on 19th March, 2022. Several wonderful chess tournaments, club sessions, simuls and lectures later, here we are - we have completed 3 years! Celebrating this occasion, we are announcing the 3rd Anniversary Phoenix ChessBase India Chess Club FIDE Rapid Rating tournament 2025. This tournament will take place on 5th April 2025!

All the details about the 3rd Anniversary Phoenix ChessBase India Chess Club FIDE Rapid Rating 2025

Date and Time: 5th April, 2025, 11 AM onwards

Reporting time:10:30 AM

Venue: Dublin Square, 1st floor, Phoenix Marketcity, Mumbai

Time control: 10 minutes + 5 second increment starting from move one

Format: 9 rounds swiss Rapid rating tournament. AICF Registration 2025-26 is mandatory for all players. For Maharashtra players, MCA registration is mandatory.

Prize fund: Rs. 3,00,000. Champion gets Rs. 70,000

Entry fee: Rs. 600. Free entry for GM, WGM, IM and WIMs!

Tournament schedule

The reporting time for all the players is 10:30 AM on 5th April, 2025. The 1st round will start at 11 AM, and the 9th and final round of the tournament will start on 6:30 PM. The prize distribution ceremony will be held from 7-8 PM.

Prize structure

The total prize fund of the tournament is Rs. 3,00,000! The Champion of the tournament will receive Rs. 70,000. There are trophies for the top 10 finishers! Apart from this, there are various special prizes for different categories - Best unrated, Best veteran player, Best Female player, Best specially abled player. There are also Rating category and age category prizes!

How to register for the tournament?

We have kept the entry fee of the tournament to Rs. 600. This is an early bird offer - if you register after 1st April, the entry fee increases to Rs. 750. The entry is free for GMs, WGMs, IMs and WIMs! Only 500 players can take part in the tournament - so hurry up and register your name now. You can register here or scan the QR code in the image below for registration!
