FIDE has announced the national federations awarded qualification spots for the 2027 FIDE World Cup and Women’s World Cup, based on results at the Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Before the Olympiad, the federations of Europe, Africa and the Americas chose to transfer some of their spots to their continental events. After 17 open and five women’s spots were transferred, 83 federations earned places in the Open World Cup and 45 in the Women’s World Cup.

Uzbekistan topped the Open list, followed by India and Germany. China led the Women’s list, with Kazakhstan second and India third. The spots are awarded to federations, which must choose a representative from their Olympiad team. If all team members have already qualified through another route or decline, the federation may select another player. Federations are expected to confirm their representatives between 1 and 15 July 2027.
