About 2400 players take part
The Hanoi Open Rapid Chess Championship was held on 11th November 2024 at the Hanoi Indoor Athletics Palace. Look at the number of sponsors that stepped forward once again in support of chess! No less than 2388 players representing over 100 chess clubs took part - a record turnout even by the high standards in Vietnam of recent years - in this eight round event that was brilliantly organised by the Organizing Committee: Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Vietnam Chess Federation and Future Grandmasters Club.
Chief Arbiter - IA GM Bui Vinh together with his Future Grandmaster Chess Club team which ensured the event ran smoothly. Besides the Open, there were age group categories starting from just five years of age!
