Peng Li Min prevails at Jura Open 2025, C R G Krishna third

GM Peng Li Min (SUI) scored an unbeaten 6.5/7 to win Jura Open 2025. He finished a half point ahead of the rest. IM Tom Decuigniere (FRA) scored 6/7 to secure second place. IM C R G Krishna edged past five other players on tie-breaks to finish sixth scoring 5.5/7. C R G's sole loss of the event was against the eventual champion, Peng in Round 6. The top three prizes were CHF 1200, 800 and 500 each. The three-day seven round Rating Open tournament was organized by Échiquier BruntrutainÉchiquier Bruntrutain at Espace Auguste-Viatte in Porrentruy, Switzerland from 28th to 30th November 2025. A Rapid and Classical time control mix event

The tournament had a hybrid or mixed time control - first three rounds were played in Rapid format 20'+5" increment, the last four rounds were played in Classical format 90'+30". Tournaments having mixed time control is quite common in Norway. Are we going to see more mixed time control events in the future? Only time will tell.

A total of 114 players including a GM and three IMs took part from nine countries across the world. The three-day seven round Rating Open tournament was organized by Échiquier BruntrutainÉchiquier Bruntrutain at Espace Auguste-Viatte in Porrentruy, Switzerland from 28th to 30th November 2025. The time control of the event was 20 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move for the first three rounds and then 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment for the last four rounds.
