India wins 51 medals at Asian Youth Chess Championships 2023

India has won a mammoth 51 medals including 19 individual (9 Gold, 6 Silver and 4 Bronze) medals, 32 team (15 Gold, 14 Silver and 3 Bronze) medals at Asian Youth Chess Championships 2023. Sharvaanica A S is the only Indian who won an individual medal in all three formats - Classical, Rapid and Blitz in Under-8 Girls category. Kiyana Parihar won an individual Gold and Silver medal in Under-8 Girls. Harsh Suresh, Muhammad Shayan Noushad Ibrahim, Saparya Ghosh, WIM Tejaswini G, WFM Bhagyashree Patil, Pratitee Bordoloi and Nivedita V C also bagged an individual medal each. India has won a staggering 51 medals. Although individual medal count dipped from the last year, the total medal count combining individual and team is up by five. Unlike last year, there were plenty of Indian players in each age group to become eligible for team medals. Sharvaanica A S won a total of five Gold medals combining both individual and team, Kiyana Parihar won four Gold, Pratitee Bordoloi, Nivedita V C and Bhagyashree Patil three Gold, Saparya three Gold, Shayan Noushad two Gold and Harsh Suresh one Gold apart from winning other medals.
