Freestyle Grand Slam Tour Stage 2 QF2: Nakamura eliminates Arjun
Hikaru Nakamura (USA) defeated Arjun Erigaisi in the second game of Quarterfinals at Freestyle Grand Slam Tour Stage 2. The reigning World Fischer Random champion, showed his fantastic positional understanding, culminating with tactics to advance to the Semifinals. He will face Vincent Keymer (GER) in the Semis. The Germany no.1 knocked out Ian Nepomniachtchi. Their match is the only one which went to the tie-breaks. Keymer won the first tie-break and drew the next one. Fabiano Caruana (USA) won the second Classical game to eliminate Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (FRA). Keymer KOs Nepomniachtchi
In 9th - 12th place battle, R Praggnanandhaa and Richard Rapport (HUN) drew with Vidit Gujrathi and D Gukesh respectively. Praggnanandhaa and Rapport will battle for the ninth place.

GM Hikaru Nakamura won a nice positional battle against GM Arjun Erigaisi which eventually got resolved by tactics.
Nepomniachtchi - Keymer, Tie-break 1
GM Ian Nepomniachtchi made a bizarre decision to go 5.Kd2 in the first tie-break game against GM Vincent Keymer (GER). While it seemed harmless at first, the misadventures of his king would eventually haunt him and cost the game.
