Freestyle Grand Slam Tour Stage 2: Arjun Erigaisi set to face Hikaru Nakamura in the Quarterfinals

Arjun Erigaisi scored 6.5/11 to finish fourth in the Round-Robin stage of Freestyle Grand Slam Tour Stage 2. On the second day, he defeated Nodirbek Abdusattorov (UZB) and Vidit Gujrathi, drew with Richard Rapport (HUN) and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (FRA). The only loss he suffered was against Ian Nepomniachtchi who finished at the top of points table with 8.5/11, same as Magnus Carlsen (NOR). They finished 1.5 points ahead of others. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (FRA) scored 7/11 to finish third. Arjun will face Hikaru Nakamura (USA) in the Quarterfinals. The remaining three matches are: Vincent Keymer (GER) vs Nepomniachtchi, Carlsen vs Abdusattorov and MVL vs Fabiano Caruana (USA). After missing a win against, GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (FRA), GM Vidit Gujrathi ended his seven-game losing streak by defeating GM Fabiano Caruana (USA).
