Bharat's 13th tournament triumph in 2024
Four players - Bharat Kumar Reddy Poluri, Kamad Mishra, Naitik R Mehta and Arpan Das were the leaders 7/8 each, going into the final round. Arpan lost to Bharat and Naitik defeated Kamad. Bharat became champion. Naitik secured second place. Rishabh Nishad conceded against Kartavya Anadkat and the latter finished third.

Bharat Kumar Reddy Poluri (2147) decided to trade his queen for his opponent, Arpan Das' (2116) rook and two minor pieces which he used in his favor and went on to win the game.
A total of 216 players including an IM participated from various states across the country. The five-day nine-round Swiss league Rating tournament was organized by UP Chess Sports Association at Ganges Club in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh from 18th to 22nd December 2024. The time control for the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
