Aaditya Dhingra triumphs at Noida Rapid Rating Open 2024

IM Aaditya Dhingra scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win Noida Rapid Rating Open 2024. He finished a half point ahead of the competition. Four players - Harish Sharma, CM Aashman Gupta, Harshit Pawar and K Ashleesh scored 7.5/9 each. They secured second to fifth respectively. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹500000. The top three prizes were ₹50000, ₹25000 and ₹15000 along with a trophy each. Aaditya defeated the eventual runner-up Harish in the fifth round. The two-day rapid rating tournament was organized by RDG Global Ventures Pvt. Ltd. on 13th and 14th January 2024 at Ananda Bliss in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

IM Aaditya Dhingra was the sole leader 7.5/8 going into the final round. Eight players were trailing him by a half point 7/8 each. Aaditya, Harish Sharma and Aashman Gupta defeated Dhrupad Kashyap, Bhavik Ahuja and IM D K Sharma respectively. Aaditya became a clear champion. Harish and Aashman secured second and third places.

IM Aaditya Dhingra scored an unbeaten 8.5/9, finished a half point ahead of the field and gained 32 Elo rating points

A total of 404 players including three IMs and a WIM took part from various states across the country and one from USA. The two-day nine round Rapid Rating tournament was organized by RDG Global Adventures Pvt. Ltd. at Ananda Bliss in Noida, Uttar Pradesh on 13th and 14th January 2024. The time control of the event was 15 minutes + 10 seconds increment.
