Aakash's third triumph of the year
Aakash Sharadchandra Dalvi and FM Niranjan Navalgund were the coleaders 7.5/8, heading into the final round. They drew their final round game against each other. Aakash became champion, Niranjan second. IM Mohammad Nubairshah Shaikh defeated Sudarshan Bhat to finish third.

A total of 276 players including two IMs took part from all over the country and one from USA in this one-day nine round Rapid Rating Open tournament. It was organized by SDM University at SDM Dental College in Dharwad, Karnataka on 2nd October 2024. The time control of the event was 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move.
