Kumar Gaurav scored 8/10 to win Oskemen Open (1800-2100) 2024. He finished a half point ahead of the competition. FM Alen Suleyev (KAZ) and Arlen Abdrashev (KAZ) scored 7.5/10 each. They were placed second and third respectively according to tie-breaks. Kumar drew with both of them in the last two rounds. The total prize fund of the tournament, combining Masters and Open was US$ 50000. The top three prizes in Open were KZT 10000000 (≈ $2000), 700000 (≈ $1400) and 500000 (≈ $1000) along with a medal and diploma each. GM Vitaliy Bernadskiy (UKR) won the Masters section, scoring an unbeaten 8/10. GM Jinshi Bai (CHN) secured second place 7.5/10. GM Jakhongir Vakhidov (UZB) was third 7.5/10. Day 6 of the Big Chess Diwali Camp brought even more excitement and engagement! We hosted a special problem-solving contest with limited participants at the camp. A total of 35 participants showcased their skills in this contest. The winners were: 1st place - Pushkar Dere, 2nd place - Vedant Panesar, and 3rd place was shared by Mitali Naik, Prathamesh Bhatt, Arjun Iyer, and Neemay Bhanushali. Novy Bor Chess Club clinches ECCC for the third time, Alkaloid second and Vados Chess Club third

Novy Bor Chess Club defeated Superchess 2.5-3.5 to become the winner of 39th European Chess Club Cup 2024. GM David Anton Guijarro scored the decisive victory for the winners over GM Jorden van Foreest, as the remaining five games ended in draws. This is Novy Bor's third ECCC triumph. Previously they won it in 2013 and 2022. Vidit Gujrathi scored 4/6 and Pentala Harikrishna 3.5/6. Both remained undefeated. Vidit is now World no.14 with a live rating 2739.2. C'Chartres Echecs lost to Alkaloid 1-5. Alkaloid secured second place 12/14, a full point behind the champion. Arjun Erigaisi scored 5.5/7, Aravindh Chithambaram 4.5/6 and S L Narayanan 4/6. Abhimanyu Puranik clinches Serbia First League for the second time for ZMAJ Beograd

GM Abhimanyu Puranik scored an unbeaten 7.5/10 to ensure his team ZMAJ (Beograd) win the Serbian First League 2024. This was the second time Abhimanyu won this event for the same team. Previously he won it in 2022 scoring 8/11. Both Abhimanyu and IM Mihajlo Radovanoic scored the same 7.5/10, only Abhimanyu remained undefeated. ZMAJ - Beograd scored 24/33, finished a full points ahead of the runner-up, SLOVEN (Ruma) 23/33. JUGOVIĆ (KAĆ) scored 22/33 to finish third. The eleven day, eleven round Round-Robin team league was organized by Šahovski savez Srbije (Chess Federation of Serbia) from 27th September to 7th October 2024 at Hotel Cepter Drina in Bajina Bašta. Novy Bor Chess Club drew with Alkaloid to maintain their sole lead 11/12 after Round 6 of 38th European Chess Club Cup 2024. Vidit Gujrathi drew with Arjun Erigaisi on the top board. Pentala Harikrishna had a rare miss in the endgame against Yangyi Yu. David Navara drew with Aravindh Chithambaram. The Czech Republic team is aiming for their third ECCC Gold. They will face SuperChess in the final round. Tuxera Aquaprofit Nagykanizsai Sakk Klub lost to SuperChess 1.5-4.5. Gukesh conceded his second consecutive draw, this time against Pavel Eljanov. R Praggnanandhaa defeated Maksim Chigaev with a nice play in the endgame. In the Women's event, IM Divya Deshmukh had a well fought draw against GM R Vaishali. Nandhidhaa P V convincingly clinches 50th National Women Championship 2024

WGM Nandhidhaa P V (TN) scored an unbeaten 9/11 to win 50th National Women Championship 2024. This is her first National Women title. WIM Priyanka K (TN), IM Padmini Rout (PSPB) and WGM Kiran Manisha Mohanty (LIC) scored 8.5/11 each. They secured second to fourth place according to tie-breaks. Nandhidhaa defeated WGM Priyanka Nutakki (AP) in the final round to become the champion. She also won against the defending champion, Padmini in Round 9. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹3000000. The top three prizes were ₹700000 + trophy, ₹550000 and ₹450000 each. The eleven-day eleven round Rating tournament was organized by and at Chettinadu Public School in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu from 3rd to 13th October 2024. ECCC R5: Arjun Erigaisi becomes the second Indian and overall 16th to cross 2800

Arjun Erigaisi defeated Dmitry Andreikin in Round 5 of 38th European Chess Club Cup 2024, to cross 2800 in live ratings. He became the second Indian after Vishy Anand and 16th player in the world to reach this elusive club. Arjun's present live rating is 2802.1. His exact rating will be known in November FIDE Rating list. His extremely impressive rise to the top is astonishing because he did not take the well-trodden path of playing only round-robin tournaments. Instead, he played a lot of open tournaments where the risk was much more compared to the reward. D Gukesh suffered his first loss at 39th European Club Chess Cup 2024 against Dmitry Andreikin. The world championship challenger made a few mistakes in the endgame. The World Cup 2013 runner-up had no trouble seizing his opportunity and win the game. R Praggnananddhaa suffered his second loss of the event. Nihal Sarin held Bogdan Daniel-Deac to a well contested draw. Nihal's team Turkish Airlines beat Superchess 4-2 to stay in the lead. Arjun Erigaisi conceded his first draw of the tournament against Alexandr Predke. Arjun's teammates - Aravindh Chithambaram and S L Narayanan powered Alkaloid to a 3.5-2.5 victory over TAJFUN-ŠK Ljubljana. Kingdom of Chess FIDE Rating – Rishaan Stuns Shahil

The beautiful city of Udaipur, Rajasthan, a popular tourist destination known as the "City of Lakes," is currently witnessing a grand event. The inaugural Kingdom of Chess FIDE Rating Tournament began here yesterday, attracting a total of 334 players from across the country. Among the participants are five International Masters and 11 titled players in total. The tournament was inaugurated yesterday by Udaipur’s Member of Parliament, Mananlal Rawat.
After the first two rounds, most of the top-seeded players managed to secure victories, but there were a few surprises. On board 6, Rishaan Jain stunned International Master Shahil Dey, and on board 4, FIDE Master Arjun Kataria was held to a draw by Pawan Sain.
