A total of 138 players including 9 GMs, 15 IMs, 3 WGM and 7 WIMs took part from 16 countries in the Open section. The Senior section had 40 players including 2 GMs and 6 IMs from ten countries. The Challengers section had 208 players from 11 countries across the world. The six-day nine round Swiss-league Rating tournament was organized by DAT Chess Centre at Cititel Midvalley, Midvalley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 28th August to 3rd September 2023. The time control for each event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
