Ranit's first rating tournament triumph
Stitaprangya Sahoo, Ranit Maity, Rupam Mukherjee and Gurubaran Raghuraman were the leaders 7/8, going into the last round. Ranit defeated Rupam to become the champion. Stitaprangya drew with Gurubaran to secure second place and the latter finished third. Anisha Mishra scored 7/9 to finish eighth. She is the highest finisher among female players and only girl to make a top ten finish.

A total of 340 players took part from all over the country. The five-day nine round Rating Open tournament was organized by IIG Sports Academy at KT Global School in Khordha, Odisha from 26th to 30th April 2025. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
