FIDE Online Olympiad for PWD R5: Poland 2 too strong for India 1

India 1 had a tough time against Poland 2 in Round 5 of FIDE Online Olympiad for People with Disabilities. Both Shashikant and Naveen had no chance against their respective opponents. Kishan scored the only draw for the team to avoid a whitewash. Jennitha got a winning position but she was unable to convert it into a victory. India 2 defeated Mongolia by 3-1, India 3 went down against Romania 1 by 3-1 and India 4 lost to Colombia by 1.5-2.5. India 1 needs to win the last two rounds of the preliminary stage by maximum margin to have a chance to advance to the Semi-Finals. India 1 had a tough day at the as they lost to Poland 2 by 3.5-0.5. Kishan Gangolli was the only one from the team to make a solid draw. Jennitha had a winning position but she misplayed, lost her advantage and eventually the game. India 2 beat Mongolia by 3-1, India 3 lost to Romania by 3-1 and India 4 lost to Colombia by narrow margin of 2.5-1.5

Poland 2 - India 1: 3.5-0.5

Shashikant played very passive which allowed his opponent IM Jacek Stachanczyk to launch a relentless attack.

Kishan was the only one from the team to score a half point against IM Piotr Dukaczewski.

Naveen Kumar also had a strong opponent in the form of Michal Wolanski.

Jennitha was the only one from the team who got a decisive advantage, unfortunately for her, she missed it.

India 2 - Mongolia: 3-1

Krishna, Subhendu and Soundarya all three scored emphatic victories. Sarita was also on the brink of a victory, she missed a mate in one probably due to time pressure and eventually ran out of time.

India 2 thrashed Mongolia 3-1

Romania 1 - India 3: 3-1

Vivek scored the sole victory for the team. Ashvin, Megha and Pegu couldn't overcome their stronger opponents respectively.

India 3 went down against Romania 1 by 3-1

India 4 - Colombia 1: 1.5-2.5

Malika was the only one from the team to score a victory, apart from her Sanjay managed to make a draw with his opponent. Marimuthu and Murahari lost their respective games.

India 4 lost to Colombia 1 by a narrow margin of 1.5-2.5
