Azerbaijan Chess Federation announces 'Chess Tour Azerbaijan'
Azerbaijan Chess Federation announces 'Chess Tour Azerbaijan' comprising eight open tournaments in seven different cities. The first one Baku Open starts tomorrow in Baku, Azerbaijan. There are seven more tournaments slated to take place from June to November 2025. Each tournament offers a total prize fund of AZN 22500 (~US$ 13235) or more. First prize is ~US$ 3000 in every Open. Conditions are offered for GMs. Check each tournament details to find out the special conditions. Five out of the eight tournament details are available. From April to November, eight open tournaments in seven different cities
Baku Open starts from tomorrow 28th April. Registration has already closed. Check out the official site of the tournament here.
Sheki Open: 18th - 25th June
Sheki Open will be organized by Azerbaijan Chess Federation and Premier Chess School. It will take place at Markhal Resort in Sheki, Azerbaijan from 18th to 25th June. There will be two tournaments in the festival - A (≥ 1900) and B (≤1899). The total prize fund is 23450 AZN (~US$ 13800). The top three prizes are 5100 + cup, 3400 and 2000 AZN each.
Entry is free for GMs, IMs, WGMs and WIMs. For everyone else, please refer to the image below.
Male players rated above 2500 and Women rated above 2300 as on 1st June 2025 (first ten players in total) will be hosted by the organizers including three meals. For everyone else, please check the image below.

Shamakhi Open: 27th June - 3rd July
Shamakhi Open will be organized by Azerbaijan Chess Federation and Vugar Gashimov Chess Foundation. It will take place at Educational Center in Shamakhi, Azerbaijan from 26th June to 3rd July. The festival has four events - A (≥1900), B (≤1899), C (Rapid) and D (Blitz). The total prize fund is 23150 AZN. The top three prizes are 5000, 3500 and 2000 AZN each.
Entry is free for GMs, IMs, WGMs, WIMs, female chess players rated above 2200, chess players rated above 2400 and those who stay at the official hotel. For everyone else, please refer to the image below.
The first applicants, five Male chess players rated above 2500 and three Women rated above 2300 as on 1st June 2025 (a total of eight players) will be hosted by the organizers including three meals. For everyone else, please check the image below.

Lankaran Open will be organized by Azerbaijan Chess Federation and NA FM Jeyhun Mammadov. It will take place at Starway Hotel Restaurant in Lankaran, Azerbaijan from 7th to 13th July. The festival has four events - A (≥1900), B (≤1899), C (Rapid) and D (Blitz). The total prize fund is 22500 AZN. The top three prizes are 5100, 3400 and 2100 AZN each.
Entry is free for GMs, IMs, WGMs, WIMs, Veterans (60 years and older), players with a rating of 2450 for men and 2250 for women. For everyone else, please refer to the image below.

Guba Open: 16th to 22nd July
Guba Open will be organized by Azerbaijan Chess Federation and IA Gudrat Ismayilov. It will take place at Shahdag-Truskovet *****Hotel Restaurant in Guba city, Azerbaijan from 16th to 22nd July. The festival has four events - A (≥1800), B (≤1799), C (Rapid) and D (Blitz). The total prize fund is 22500 AZN (~US$ 13235). The top three prizes are 5100, 3500 and 2000 AZN each.
