1st FIDE Olympiad for PwD 2023 R5: India suffers a tough loss against Poland 3-1

by Shahid Ahmed - 04/02/2023

Poland is a very strong team. They are the top seed and currently the sole leader 10/10. They defeated India 3-1 in the penultimate round. IPCA is at sole second place 8/10, followed by four teams - Philippines, Israel, India and Hungary. India must win the last round and with the best possible game score to have medal chances. Poland needs a draw against Israel to clinch the Gold which might still not be enough for the latter to secure a medal. India faces Philippines in the final round. Medal hopes are there

First thing that India needs to do is to beat Philippines with the best possible score they can. Then hope all other results work out in their favor to secure a medal.
