Koneru Humpy has scored the first win for Team India in the final round of the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad. Playing against Georgia’s Nana Dzagnidze, Humpy converted her advantage to bring home an important point for India.

The turning point came on the 18th move when Dzagnidze played 18...Rfd8, a serious blunder that gave Humpy a completely winning opportunity. Humpy was quick to spot the chance and went on to convert her advantage into a victory.
