It was a tournament with organization par excellence. The playing hall was mammoth and it hosted 801 participants from all over India. The 2nd RWF tournament was a huge success. The event that had 16 titled players and was won by P. Shyaamnikil from Tamil Nadu. He went back home with a prize of Rs.70,000. There were three extremely interesting things that happened in the fourth round of the London Chess Classic. Vishy Anand made an impressive and deep calculation against Michael Adams, but couldn't assess the position correctly. Wesley So played a very interesting idea against the very popular London System and Hikaru Nakamura brought the 3...c5 gambit in the Caro Kann back into action. After a scintillating win in round two against Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Vishy Anand was completely off colour against Hikaru Nakamura. The American made quite a few errors and Anand had the chance to take over the advantage, however, it was not to be. Anand made some huge mistakes and Nakamura took the full point. This was the only decisive game of the day, but surely not the most exciting one. The Myanmar Chess Federation organized the Asian Seniors Championship 2016 from 27 October to 04 November at Hotel Hazel, Mandalay, Myanmar. The tournament was held in two categories — for players aged above 50 and 65. India's 69-year-old IM Wazeer Ahmad Khan won the gold in the 65+ category where 18 players competed.
