Anuj Shrivatri Wins 1st Burhanpur Open Rapid Rating 2026

IM Anuj Shrivatri scored an unbeaten 8/9 points to win the 1st Burhanpur Open Rapid Rating Tournament 2026. Anuj and Sammed Jaykumar Shete were both unbeaten 8/9, but a better tiebreak score helped Anuj win the tournament. Five players scored 7.5/9 points to finish in 3rd to 7th place. The tournament was organised by Burhanpur District Chess Association on the 6th and 7th June 2026. Just two days after clinching the World Rapid Team Championship, the Chinese squad Dragon Chilling has completed a historic double by securing the World Team Blitz Championship 2026 title. Despite the presence of heavyweights like Magnus Carlsen’s WR Chess and India’s formidable Team MGD1, this Chinese unit maintained its dominance throughout the event to walk away with both trophies. IM Ajay Santhosh Parvathareddy and IM Harsh Suresh scored huge wins in the 2nd round of the Chola Chess GM Round Robin Tournament 2026. Ajay defeated IM Antoine Bournel with the black pieces, while Harsh Suresh beat Mihail Nikitenko with white pieces. In the 3rd round, Ajay is going to face Harsh Suresh. In the IM Group, there was only one decisive result, where FM Pranav KP defeated Devindya Oshini Gunawardhana. Check out today's player of the day in the report. The Chola Chess GM and IM Norm Round Robin Tournament 2026 kicks off in Chennai, and the 1st round delivered exciting results. In the IM group, FM Arshpreet Singh defeated IM David Gochelashvili, FM Aarit Kapil won against FM Pranav KP, and Daakshin Arun trapped Devindya Oshini's queen to win the game. In the GM group, there were two decisive results where Michal Krasenkow defeated Anuj Shrivatri and Mihail Nikitenko defeated Antoine Bournel. Madhvendra started the event with a perfect 6/6 and gained a full point lead over the field. In the next 3 rounds, he made 2 solid draws and clinched the title. Aakash K P Wins 1st Sooriya Chess Academy Open FIDE Rating 2026

Tamil Nadu's Aakash K P emerged champion of the Sooriya Chess Academy 1st International FIDE Rating Open Chess Tournament 2026. Aakash scored an unbeaten 7.5/9 points to claim the championship. International Master Girinath P D S of Telangana secured the second place with 7.5/9 due to tiebreak scores. Praneeshwar Madhavan of Tamil Nadu secured third place with a score of 7/9 points. Chola Chess GM & IM Norm Round Robin Tournament 2026 Begins in Chennai

Chola Chess is back with its International Round Robin events! After the successful completion of the 1st Chola Chess Grandmaster Norm Round Robin tournament in February. This time, Chola Chess is organising IM and GM round robin events under the same roof. Talented youngsters and experienced veterans will face each other from 20th June to 28th June. After 4 Rounds at the World Youth Chess Championship 2026, India's IM Goutham Krishna H and WFM Pratitee Bordoloi are leading in their respective groups with a perfect 4/4. In the U-16 Open section, IM Goutham Krishna H defeated FM Nikita Nechitaylo in the 4th round. This win helped Goutham to gain the sole lead in his group.
