Eligibility Criteria

  1. Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.

  2. Age Bracket: 18 to 30 years (born between 1st September 1996 and 1st September 2008). Valid proof includes a Birth Certificate or 10th Class Board Marksheet.

  3. Rating Threshold: Minimum standard FIDE rating of 2500 for men and 2350 for women.

  4. Recent Activity: Applicants must have played Standard FIDE-rated tournaments held between 1st January 2025 and the closing date of application (29th September 2026).

  5. Income Limit: Combined parental annual income must not exceed ₹30 Lakh per annum (latest ITR or family income certificate required).

  6. No Dual Benefit: Candidates must not be employed or receiving any other scholarship, stipend, or contract from any Central/State Govt., Public Sector Enterprises, foundations, or private organizations.

Additional Perks & Tenure

  • Duration: Granted for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years based on yearly performance reviews.

  • Medical & Accident Cover: Comprehensive personal health/accident insurance of up to ₹5,00,000, or reimbursement of self-insurance premiums up to ₹7,000 per annum.

  • Allowances & Kits: TA/DA and event expenses provided when representing ONGC in domestic events, along with official playing kits.

  • Direct Transfer: Disbursed monthly directly into the player's bank account.


Selection Process & How to Apply

  • Selection Method: Merit is determined strictly by higher FIDE Classical rating. In case of an exact tie, preference goes to the older candidate.

  • File Uploads: All certificates must be submitted in PDF format, while photos and signatures must be JPEG/PNG (each file strictly under 100 KB).
