Avika started the tournament as the top seed, but in the 2nd round itself she drew against unrated Avni Shukla from there the path was tough but Avika won 6 games in a roaw to win the state championship. In the final round, Avika defeated Tanishka Shrivasatava on the top board; meanwhile, runner-up Mandakini Mishra drew against Avni Shukla.
A total of 48 Women players from different parts of Madhya Pradesh took part in this 3-day FIDE Rating Classical Chess Tournament organised by the District Chess Association, Jabalpur, from 1st to 3rd September 2026.
