Aaryan's 3rd-rated tournament triumph of 2026
India's 92nd GM Aaryan Varshney scored his final GM Norm this year after winning the 16th Andranik Margaryan Memorial 2026. Aaryan also won the 1st Kangra Rapid Rating at the start of this year. Here at the 7th DD-DBCA Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament, Aaryan comfortably scored a perfect 9/9 to clinch the title and increased his ELO by 8.6 points.
A total of 120 players from all across the country took part in this Abovr 1600 Classical event. The time control was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move 1.
