Xinyang Nie wins 24th Najdorf Memorial 2025, Deep Sengupta second

IM Xinyang Nie (CHN) scored 7.5/9 to win 24th Najdorf Memorial A (≥2000) 2025. He finished a half point ahead of the rest. The defending champion and winner of the past two editions, GM Deep Sengupta scored sole 7/9 to secure second place. Six players scored 6.5/9 each. Out of them, GM Vladimir Hamitevici (MDA) was placed third due to better tie-break score. The total prize fund of the festival was 50000 PLN, 28000 PLN in A, 12000 in B and 10000 in C. Deep makes a podium finish in third consecutive edition

The Warsaw Chess Festival 2025 witnessed a combined participation of 428 - 103 in Group A (≥2000), 159 in B (1600-1999) and 166 in C (<1600).

Replay all Category A games

A total of 103 players including 9 GMs, 4 IMs, a WGM and a WIM took part from 14 countries across the world in this Open A (≥2000) category. The nine-day nine-round Swiss League Rating Open tournament was organized by General K Sosnkowski Chess Foundation at Sports hall at Konwiktorska in Warsaw, Poland from 8th - 16th July 2025. The time control of the event was 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move no.1.
