Mary Ann on the verge of winning Velammal AICF WGM 2024

WGM Mary Ann Gomes drew both her eighth and nine round games to maintain her sole lead. She is still 1.5 points ahead 7.5/9, of her nearest competition at Velammal AICF WGM Round-Robin 2024. Mary drew against WIM Sakshi Chitlange and IM Elena Sedina (ITA) in the final double round of the tournament. She is now a win away from becoming the champion of the tournament, while a draw may also prove to be enough. WIM Mounika Akshaya scored a fine victory over WGM Uurtsaikh Uuriintuya (MGL).
