Velammal AICF WGM 2024 R2-3: Mary and Sarayu are the early leaders

WGM Mary Ann Gomes and Sarayu Velpula have emerged early coleaders at Velammal AICF WGM Round-Robin 2024. Mary defeated WIM G K Monnisha in a wild game in the second round. Both of their kings were out in the open. Mary managed to defend her king and use her extra material to win the game. WIM Sakshi Chitlange could not capitalize on her decisive advantage against Sarayu. Instead, she made a one move blunder and Sarayu won the game.
