Tamil Nadu State Government awards ₹1 Crore each to the Bronze medal winning Indian teams

The Indian teams played phenomenal chess at the 44th Chess Olympiad 2022. The team performances were outstanding not only because the players played some amazing chess but also due to the immense contribution made the coaches, assistant coaches and seconds of the team. It was indeed a team effort which earned India a historic double Bronze at the biggest Olympiad in history. Records were broken and new statistics were formed due to the harmony showcased both on and off the board. Both teams rewarded by the Tamil Nadu Government

On Wednesday 10th August, Tamil Nadu gave cash award worth ₹1 Crore (approx. €122603.2) each team to both India 2 in the Open and India 1 in the Women's section for winning the historic Bronze medal at the recently concluded 44th Chess Olympiad.
