Satendra's first rating tournament victory
Satendra Singh and Wanawee Buranasing (THA) were the coleaders 5.5/6 heading into the final round. Top seed, Wanawee drew against second seeded Sivakorn Siriponlai (THA) and the third seeded, Satendra was held to a draw by Cholapat Chongstitwattana (THA). Thus, Satendra became champion and Wanawee second. Maksim Smirnov defeated Kanuengnit Chiadthaisong (THA) to finish third.
A total of 44 players took part in the Challengers (Below 1650) section from eight countries across the world in this four-day seven round Rating tournament. It was organized by Wacharaphol Jongatireklap at Away Bangkok Riverside Kene Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand from 20th to 23rd October 2023. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
