India wins six medals at Western Asian Junior Chess Championships 2024
India has won a total of six medals including two Gold, one Silver and three Bronze medals at Western Asian Junior Chess Championships 2024. WFM Shubhi Gupta, reigning National Sub-Junior Girls champion - Mrittika Mallick and WFM Rindhiya V scored 5.5/7 each in Rapid Girls. The reigning Andhra Pradesh State Senior Open champion - FM Md. Imran won Bronze in both Rapid and Blitz Open scoring 5/7 and 7/9 each respectively. Two Gold, One Silver and Three Bronze
WFM Shubhi Gupta and WFM Sachi Jain are the Gold medal winners. Mrittika Mallick is the sole Silver medal winner. FM Md. Imran won two and WFM Rindhiya V won one Bronze medal each respectively.
Rapid: Open - Bronze
FM Eldiar Orozbaev (KGZ, 2274) scored 6/7 to clinch Gold. FM Satbek Akhmedinov (KAZ, 2129) secured Silver scoring 5.5/7. FM Md. Imran (2120) scored 5/7 and got Bronze on tie-breaks.
