Ferenc Berkes wins 2nd Rigo Janos Memorial Open 2023, Harsh Suresh second

GM Ferenc Berkes (HUN), FM Harsh Suresh and GM Valeriy Aveskulov (UKR) scored 7.5/9 each at 2nd Rigo Janos Memorial Open 2023. Ferenc won the tournament due to better tie-break score, Harsh and Aveskulov were placed second and third. Top three remained undefeated. The total prize fund of the tournament was HUF 1275000 (€3187). The top three prizes in the Open was HUF 300000 (€750) + cup, medal and certificate , HUF 200000 (€500) and HUF 150000 (€375) each respectively. A total of 27 players including 3 GMs, an IM and a WGM took part in Open A from six countries across the world in this eight-day nine-round Swiss League Rating tournament. The GM and IM Round-Robin tournaments had ten players each. The tournaments were organized by Honved ASE chess club at Balatonlellei Művelődési Ház in Balatonlelle, Hungary from 14th to 22nd June 2023. The time control of the event was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
