Young talents shine at the Children’s Champions League 2nd edition in Hyderabad
The Children’s Champions League 2nd Edition took place on 23rd February 2025 in Hyderabad. 190 young players, including 33 FIDE-rated talents, competed across five age groups. The tournament had an exciting prize pool of Rs. 50,000 and was organized by Srikanth Malladi. The event was a huge success, showing Telangana’s bright future in chess. Champions in the making
The Children’s Champions League 2nd Edition took place on 23rd February 2025 at Hotel Surabhi Elite, Kothapet, Hyderabad. A total of 190 young players, including 33 FIDE-rated players, participated in this tournament. This Telangana State Level tournament was organized by Srikanth Malladi. The goal was to give young players a chance to showcase their skills and compete with the best players. The total prize pool for this event was Rs. 50,000.
The tournament had five age categories: Under 7, Under 9, Under 11, Under 13, and Under 15. Each group saw intense battles over the board, and the Champions who emerged victorious in their respective categories were:

The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Satyendranath, a respected senior chess player, author of "Sampurna Chadarangam," and former columnist for Varta. His experience and insights were invaluable to the young players. Ms. Aisha from Surabhi Hotels Group was also present. She helped with the smooth execution of the event.
The 2nd Edition of the Children's Champion's League proved to be a resounding success. It nurtured the passion for chess among young players. With such initiatives, it seems Telangana has a bright future for chess.
