Bharat Kumar Reddy Poluri dominates 1st Aspiring Minds Rapid Rating Open 2025

Bharat Kumar Reddy Poluri scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win 1st Aspiring Minds Rapid Rating Open 2025. He finished a half point ahead of the rest. Six players - Vignesh Advaith Vemula, CM Chidvilash Sai Surapaneni, FM Ajay Mushini, IM Ravi Teja S, Rohith N and Dhruva Thota scored 8/9 each. They secured second to seventh place respectively according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹300000. The top three prizes were ₹50000, ₹30000 and ₹15000 along with a trophy each. The two-day nine round Rapid  Rating Open tournament was organized by Aspiring Minds Chess Academy at Meridian Global School in Hyderabad, Telangana on 3rd and 4th May 2025. Bharat's third tournament triumph of the year

Bharat Kumar Reddy Poluri made a blazing start by winning eight games in-a-row. CM Chidvilash Sai Surapaneni was the only player trailing him by a half point at 7.5/8. Bharat drew with Chidlvilash to become a clear champion and the latter finished third. Vignesh won against C R Ritvik to secure second place.

Organizing a tournament and playing at the same time is no easy task. Former National Challengers Champion and Aspiring Minds Chess Academy Director, IM Ravi Teja S managed to do both quite well. He scored 8/9 and was placed fifth according to tie-breaks.

A total of 764 players including three IMs took part from all over the country, one from Hong Kong and three from the USA. The two-day nine round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by Aspiring Minds Chess Academy at Meridian Global School in Hyderabad, Telangana on 3rd and 4th May 2025. The time control of the event was 25 minutes + 10 seconds increment per move.
