Annirudhha Potawad wins the 3rd Christmas eve ChessBase India Club Tournament 2022

After winning the 2nd ChessBase India Chess Club tournament, Annirudhha Potawad won the 3rd edition as well scoring a perfect 6/6. A total of 44 players took part in the Christmas eve edition of the event at the Phoenix Marketcity Mall, Mumbai. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹10000. The top three prizes were ₹5000, ₹3000 and ₹2000 along with a trophy each. Fourth to eighth won 1-month ChessBase Premium Account subscription and a 10% discount coupon which can be used on ChessBase India shop.

A double victory for Aniruddha

The fourth Saturday of each month, ChessBase India organizes a chess tournament as part of the ChessBase India Club at Phoenix Market City in Mumbai, Maharashtra. There are no entry fees for players who have attended all 3 sessions of the ChessBase India Club sessions that month! For the people who were not able to attend the Club sessions regularly, we have launched "pay-and-play" from this month. For those players, there was a participation fee of Rs. 500 involved. A big thank you to Phoenix Marketcity Mall as usual!

Aniruddha played a very exciting game against Kriti Patel (1306) in the final round. Take a look at the intense battle:

The final round battle between Anirudh and Kriti. Talented youngster Aniruddha Potawad won the 2nd Pursue your Chess Scholarship back in 2020 for Rs.75,000!

We would like to thank the Phoenix Marketcity who have sponsored the event for their kind support. A total of 58 players took part from various parts of the country. The one-day six-round Swiss league Blitz Open tournament took place at Phoenix Market City in Mumbai, Maharashtra on Christmas eve, 24th December 2022. The time control of the tournament was 5 minutes + 2 seconds increment from move no.1.
