Adamas and University of Calcutta are East Zone Inter University Women and Men 2024-25 Champions

Adamas University won East Zone Inter University Women Championship 2024-25. The team won the tournament with a round to spare. They scored 100% 12/12 to finish first, three match points ahead of the runner-up. Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyaya Durg and University of Calcutta scored 9/12 each. They were placed second and third respectively. In the Men's event, University of Calcutta and Jadavpur University scored 13/14 each. CU became champion on tie-breaks, JU finished second. Patna University scored sole 10/14 to be placed third. The National University championships will take place later this month.

Adamas University Women's team won the tournament for four consecutive editions 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 and now 2024-25. In the Men's event, University of Calcutta became the champion for the first time since December 2022.

The tournament was organized by and at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur from 25th to 28th February 2025. A total of 81 players including two WIMs comprising 18 teams took part in the six-round Swiss league team tournament which had a time control of 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.

The tournament was organized by and at Sarala Birla University, Namkom, Ranchi from 4th to 8th February 2025. A total of 137 players including an IM comprising 26 teams took part in the six-round Swiss league team tournament which had a time control of 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
